5 Important Reasons Why a Seasonal Detox Keeps You Energized and Healthy

I truly believe that cleansing your body on a seasonal basis is essential to staying energized and healthy! Are you feeling tired and low in energy all the time? Do you struggle to lose weight no matter how much you diet and exercise?

Are you experiencing digestive problems, skin issues, chronic inflammation, bloating, or sugar cravings? Is your life filled with constant stress? Are you anxious or depressed? If any of these questions describe you, its time to do a seasonal detox cleanse so you can reset your body and mind and get back on track!

Cleansing your body and mind on a seasonal basis is essential to maintaining vibrant health. What would happen to your home if you only cleaned it up once a year? Your rooms would become cluttered, dusty, dirty, and smelly!

Trash would start accumulating and rotting and you would get sick from being constantly exposed daily to all the dirt, bad bacteria, and toxins that would flourish in this unclean environment.

Now imagine what happens to your body if you never do anything to keep your insides clean or remove the damaging toxins that you deal with on a daily basis? What is this doing to your health? If you’re not detoxing your body, toxins can build up and get stored in your fat cells and tissues causing you to pack on the pounds. This causes a major drain on your energy levels.

Your liver can become overwhelmed, sluggish, congested and not function optimally. Inflammation can increase and become systemic and chronic which negatively affects both your digestive and immune system. Parasites and yeast can flourish in this environment and rob your body of important nutrients you need to stay strong and healthy.

All of these issues will lead to the breakdown of your immune system, ultimately compromising your good health and possibly leading to degenerative diseases.

Detoxification and cleansing have been practiced for centuries by many cultures of people around the globe. This time honored practice involves resting, nourishing, cleansing and rebuilding your body and rejuvenating your mind so that you can maintain radiant health. By eliminating health-depleting toxins and chronic inflammation, you will provide your body and mind with the critical support needed to help stay healthy and protect you from disease.

Some of you may already do a detox once a year and believe that this is enough to maintain radiant health. Detoxing once a year is a great start but not enough to protect you from the daily onslaught of toxins we deal with on a daily basis. I used to believe that if I ate really clean and detoxed once a year it would be enough. When I still had issues with eczema, bloating, and up and downs in my energy, I knew I needed to go deeper by detoxing with the seasons and doing more to rebuild my digestive system and get rid of chronic inflammation.

So you may be asking yourself how can I benefit from doing a detox with every season? The benefits are tremendous!

Here’s 5 Important Reasons Why a Seasonal Detox Keeps You Energized and Healthy

  • A seasonal detox will help you get rid of health depleting toxins that are making you feel tired, sluggish, and unwell.

  • A seasonal detox will improve your digestion and get rid of bloating and other digestive issues that drain your energy.

  • A seasonal detox will reduce chronic inflammation and provide support to your adrenal glands.

  • A seasonal detox will reboot your metabolism helping you shed those pounds easily.

  • A seasonal detox will rejuvenate your body and mind so you can enjoy radiant health!

There are many detox programs available and some of them can be restrictive, drastic or too dangerous for you to attempt. A safe and effective detox program reduces toxins while it nourishes and reboots your body. One of the best detox programs is one based on an elimination diet that removes foods that cause inflammation and replaces them with cleansing foods that are rich in water, fiber, protein, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals, probiotics, and enzymes.

These important nutrients will help reboot your digestive system, remove toxins, and aid the body to naturally detoxify. Once you remove the trigger foods that are keeping you unbalanced along with decreasing the toxicity and inflammation, you will achieve your health and weight loss goals.

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ: The information shared on doing detox cleanses does not replace the guidance or care from a licensed qualified medical professional. If you have any of the following conditions you should not attempt a detox cleanse without medical supervision.

1. You have type 1 diabetes (insulin dependent)

2. You are pregnant or breastfeeding.

3. You are taking prescription medications that require a stable blood concentration.

4. You have a serious disease like cancer.

  2. I should be doing this regularly. I usually do need a reminder because I’m so busy. Sure, I could eat healthy, but a good detox can be a good jump start to the body after so many months of build up. Thanks for sharing this reminder. 🙂

  7. Hi Shelley,

Interesting that I came across this post today because I have been investigating cleanses over the last few days. A friend want me to do the Master Cleanse with her beginning today. After reading up on it over the internet, I don’t feel too good about it. I am about to have my first serving of the ‘lemonade’ but may try to convince her to do a different cleanse.

    Thanks for sharing this

    • Rachel, I really don’t believe in doing detoxes or cleanses that are so drastic and only use liquids like the master cleanse. That’s why I created my radiance holistic detox cleanse program based on whole foods because it is so much easier to incorporate into your life and you never feel hungry or deprived while on the detox. Maybe you and your friend should try my program instead of the master cleanse. Keep me posted.

  8. Hi, Shelley. I agree with your philosophy of reducing toxins and nourishing the body. I was doing a detox twice a year. This past year, I only did one. I’ve done Kris Carr’s 21-day cleanse and I’ve done shorter cleanses with green juice and nourishing foods. I’ll check out your program and see what it’s all about.

  9. I feel that since seeing my nutritionist monthly has changed my overall body wholeness. I regained energy and lost weight. Not saying I need to, yet feel better and last longer during the day.

My experience with this cleansing. May confuse most people who will over do it. May I suggest to understand various methods and then, find one that fits your situation. We all are different and most take medication. Be very careful you are not harming yourself. Information can be powerful only with the right execution of actions.

Great article and one I will return to, soon.

    • William, I am so glad you are feeling better since you started working with a nutritionist monthly! I agree that people should not overdue a cleanse and try a severe detox program that can do more harm than good. I created a gentle detox cleanse program based on whole foods and a elimination diet that removes foods that may cause food sensitivities, leaky gut issues and chronic inflammation like dairy, soy, corn, gluten, eggs, sugar and wheat. I recommend right in the detox that you check with your doctor before attempting to do any type of detox or change in diet. I also make it clear that if you have a serious disease or are on certain prescription medications, you should not do any type of detox program.
