7 Delectable Snacks from Super Snack Saturday

I just launched a new celebration on my Facebook page called Super Snack Saturday to give all of you a wonderful selection of healthy homemade snacks to choose from. This party will be happening several times per year on Saturdays with recipes from all my blogger friends so please pop by my page to see all the healthy and delicious snacks being shared.

Today’s post is a collection of my favorite snacks from Saturday July 13th. These snacks are truly delectable and easy to make! I love to have a good snack every day but I want to make sure that these snacks are healthy too. All of these recipes fit the bill and are a great way to make sure you and your family has a wide variety of fantastic recipes to choose from.

These strawberry crumble bars from Marie of Citronlimette are beautiful to look at and absolutely delicious! Homemade bars are one of the best portable snacks and are easy to take with you for a healthy snack you can enjoy either at school or work.

Gluten Free, Grain Free, Vegetarian

Roasted cauliflower from Linda at Project Healthy Ever After has the exotic addition of raw cacao powder which makes the cauliflower develop a mouth-watering nutty taste. Raw cacao is an excellent source of minerals like magnesium along with antioxidants that are important for vibrant health. The yogurt dipping sauce has a variety of fresh herbs, garlic and pine nuts which really enhance the roasted cauliflower.

Popcorn Trail Mix

Popcorn and watching movies go hand in hand. I always like to make my own homemade organic popcorn popped in coconut oil and then covered with different toppings. This yummy popcorn recipe from Kelly at Inspired Edibles has the unique twist of adding trail mix to it. Nuts, seeds, and fruit with popcorn? What an inspired pairing!

Homemade Sweet Potato Chips

Gluten Free, Grain Free, Vegetarian, Vegan, Paleo

Chips are one of the most popular snack foods around but most of the chips sold in the supermarket are made with genetically modified vegetable oils and potatoes. Linda from Meal Planning Maven has created a crave worthy baked sweet potato chip that is completely fat-free and topped with coarse sea salt, garlic powder, cayenne, cinnamon, and sesame seeds!

Parmesan Almond Crackers

Homemade crackers are some of the most delicious and easiest snacks to enjoy. You can use crackers as the base for variety of different toppings or serve as a companion to soups or salads. Parmesan almond crackers are a crispy, cheesy cracker recipe featured on Noshing with the Nolands. This cracker is a gluten-free, grain-free cracker that is made with almond flour and parmesan cheese. This cracker recipe is from the book Cooking For the Specific Carbohydrate Diet which Tara reviewed on her blog.

Energy bars are really great for giving you the boost of energy you need to keep you going throughout the day with ease. However, some commercial brands are filled with chemicals, preservatives, synthetic vitamins and minerals which are all ingredients that don’t promote vibrant health. These scrumptious homemade coconut cream larabars from Melissa at My Whole Food Life are just the opposite of these types of energy bars and they are so easy to make! The recipe comes together in minutes and has some of my favorite foods in them including coconut flakes, dates, coconut oil, raw almonds, and raw cashews.

Yogurt Carob Almond Apple Parfait

Yogurt Carob Apple Almond Parfait

My yogurt carob almond apple parfait is a tasty recipe that is perfect for a healthy snack or quick breakfast. This easy yogurt carob parfait tastes like a caramel-chocolate pudding. Carob powder, vanilla, maple syrup, and cinnamon are blended with creamy Greek yogurt until smooth. Then you add chopped sweet apple and crunchy raw almonds for a treat that is nutrient-rich and satisfying.
