Essential Oil Solutions For Treating 10 Common Health Ailments

Essential Oil Solutions For Treating 10 Common Health Ailments

Using essential oils are a powerful and effective way to help your body’s own natural healing abilities. These amazing oils can be used effectively to provide extra support to our body. This second post from essential oil expert Kierston Kirschbaum will give you some fantastic essential oil remedies for treating 10 common health ailments.

Here is Kierston’s post:

Before I found essential oils it seemed like one of my boys was always sick, always catching something from school or church and someone was always missing school. Their colds would make the rounds and I would end up getting sick as well.  I have learned two secrets about maintaining a healthy family using essential oils and I hope you can take these “ground breaking discoveries” (at least they were for me) and gain some of your own stories of empowerment. I have listed 10 of the most common wellness challenges we all encounter and how we can protect ourselves using the power of essential oils to improve our health against them.

The first secret to using essential oils is to apply them frequently. If I’m trying to boost my immune system I’ll use an essential oil 3-4 times a day. Of course the application amount will depend on the person and age, but being consistent and proactive is the key. This is very different then traditional medicine where we take 1 pill every 4-8 hours.

The second secret is that a little goes a long way. If you remember us discussing in the first post that 1 drop of peppermint essential oil is equal to 28 cups of peppermint tea and essential oils are 50-70 times stronger than herbs. So just use a little (1-2 drops) and have faith that you will get the desired results.

In the following post, you’ll learn how medical experts teach you how to care for your family’s everyday health ailments by harnessing the power of pure, potent essential oils. You’ll learn about caring for all of the following:

  1. Coughing
  2. Sore Throat
  3. Skin Rashes
  4. Vision Problems
  5. Knee Troubles
  6. Back Pain
  7. Stomach and Digestive System Issues
  8. Earaches
  9. Hypertension
  10. Depression

1. Coughing: Choose natural suppressants.

Nothing calls attention to you or your family member as being the “sick one” more than a nagging, persistent cough. Coughing is the body’s way of clearing excess mucus or other irritants from the airway. Likewise, the reverse case of breathing fully and cleanly without congestion, irritation and soreness makes us feel and operate at our best. When you help your family breathe easier, you’ll breathe easier too.

2. Sore Throat: Pass on the cold medicine.

Often one of the first signs of sickness is a sore throat. It can be caused by congestion, sinus issues, colds, and other irritants. Using over-the-counter drugs isn’t the only solution to congestion and pain. Multiple symptoms can be treated with more organic solutions like these essential oils.

  1. Great summary of essential oil benefits and uses. I don’t have any ailments but regularly use lavender and eucalyptus essential oils. I also make ginger tea for drinking after the occasional pig out.

  2. I haven’t been looking into much about using essential oils… the only oil type thing I’ve been looking into is oil pulling since that’s been a big thing lately amongst the bloggers out there. lol

I don’t have any current issues except breaking out after eating certain foods with a certain type of preservative…. and usually something with tomato too. We’ve been trying to pin point it, but it hasn’t been a big thing as I just get itchy for an hour.

  3. This looks like a very helpful summary of many useful tips for improving health with essential oils. I have relatively little experience in this realm, although my wife has used essential oils in the past. I have tried them from time to time following her recommendation, but never consistently.

Thanks for a very informative post.

  4. Thank you for sharing, Shelley — this list is a keeper!

Lavender oil for depression… I’ve used it for ADHD as well. Funny that the same oil would be good for two apparently opposite ailments, but both need that calming, quieting effect.

  5. Thank you, Shelley for sharing this very informative post by Kierston.

It contains so many great helpful suggestions.
    I love essential oils.
A few years when I pulled out the yucky carpet that was in the bedroom I used linseed oil with cedar to treat the beautiful wooden floor.
In the bathroom I use Colloidial silver with a mix of essential oils.

  6. I have been looking for something to replace the medicine I have to take each day. This is for sinus drip. It will not stop each and everyday without taking the medicine. It is like I am having a cold runny nose and cough all day. I do not mind , yet finding a natural remedy with oils would be more pleasant.

Thank you for all the supportive useful information, I can not think to live without.

  9. I would really go for the sore throat remedy. Because when i’m about to get sick, sore thorat is always my first indication and then the colds and coughs follow after a day. I’ll try your recommendation on that. I usually go with honey water.

  10. I don’t have any present issues aside from breaking out in the wake of eating certain sustenances with a specific sort of additive. Also, more often than not something with tomato as well. We’ve been attempting to stick point it, yet it hasn’t been a major thing as I simply get irritated for 60 minutes.
