Why I love Manitoba Harvest Hemp Superfoods

As a holistic chef and certified healing foods specialist, great taste and health benefits go hand in hand when I choose what foods I want to put in my body for vibrant health. Manitoba Harvest’s hemp superfood products meet my criteria for both with flying colors! Manitoba Harvest offers a great variety of top quality hemp products which I recommend you include in your diet on a regular basis if you want to enjoy vibrant health.

I love all of Manitoba Harvest’s wonderful hemp products but my two favorites are the hemp hearts and hemp seed butter because of their versatility and delicious taste.

Hemp hearts are the unshelled heart which is the most nutritious part of the hemp seed. Hemp hearts have a nutty taste and are delicious on their own or good in a variety of different recipes. I enjoy hemp hearts in smoothies, in salads, sprinkled on hot cereal or yogurt, and as the base for creamy dairy-free hemp milk.

Manitoba Harvest’s hemp seed butter is a smooth, creamy, nutty butter which is a great replacement for nut butters like peanut butter which some people have allergies to. Hemp seed butter is lower in fat and carbohydrates and higher in protein than many nut butters. Hemp seed butter is great with fruit or vegetables, on sprouted bread, in salad dressings, sauces or dips, in raw chocolate treats, and in smoothies.

The top health reasons why I adore hemp and recommend it to all of my clients are:

  • Hemp is a sustainable plant that is grown without the use of pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, or genetically modified seeds.
  • Hemp seeds contain gamma linoleic acid a rare form of omega-6 fatty acid that helps maintain healthy cholesterol, heart health, optimal hormone balance, and healthy blood pressure levels.
  • Hemp has a good balance of omega-3 to omega-6 essential fatty acids in a 3.75:1 ratio.
  • Hemp is nutrient-dense and is a great source of vitamin C, B vitamins, folic acid, potassium, magnesium, calcium, and chlorophyll.

  1. Wow, I didn’t know you could grow hemp without pesticides or that it had the OMega-3 oils and was so nutritious. Is this food available for sale and consumption in the U. S. ? I was just wondering. Thanks so much for sharing this healthy information!
